Contemporary feel, with a spacious breakfast room and outdoor terrace
Housed in a five-story white building and renovated in 2009, Apollo Museumhotel Amsterdam City Centre has a contemporary feel in its design and decor. The hotel fits in well with its surroundings on the high-end P.C. Hooftstraat shopping street. The lobby is light and airy with slight mod influences, and the spacious breakfast restaurant and cocktail bar are stylish and understated. An outdoor private terrace is a pleasant place to relax after a day of walking along the canals.
On a luxury shopping street, one block from the Rijksmuseum and near major tourist destinations
Apollo Museumhotel Amsterdam City Centre is on P.C. Hooftstraat, across the street from the Singel Canal in one of the city's wealthiest neighborhoods. The overall area is well serviced by public transportation, though many tourist sights are in the immediate vicinity. The Rijksmuseum is just one block southeast and Vondelpark is slightly northwest, while the Van Gogh and Stedelijk museums are a few blocks away. Leidseplein nightlife and the Holland Casino are across the canal. Getting to Schiphol Amsterdam Airport takes about 20 minutes by car.
Tiny modern rooms with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs
Apollo Museumhotel Amsterdam City Centre has 188 non-smoking rooms dispersed between a five-floor main building and a secondary property. With some spaces offering views of the canal or Rijksmuseum, minimalist single rooms are generally tiny with cramped bathrooms. Rooms have lots of natural light and are decorated in a white, chocolate brown, and red palette. All have desks and flat-screen TVs, while some also have coffeemakers and/or mini-bars.
Breakfast buffet (for a fee), cocktail bar, and outdoor terrace
The hotel has limited facilities, with no fitness center, sauna, or pool. It does serve a substantial breakfast spread (for a fee) of eggs, breads, fruit, ham, coffee, juice, and more. The bar serves cocktails, wine, and beer in a bright, stylish space. The hotel also has an outdoor private terrace and a lobby business center with computers and a flat-screen TV. The front desk is open 24 hours with a multilingual staff.
