Take a look at the most romantic hotels in Downtown.

  1. This DoubleTree is in many ways a typical chain hotel -- albeit one with extensive amenities, including an outdoor pool, a large, sleek fitness center, and a convenience store in the lobby. The rooms feel a tad crowded, but have warm colors and comfy beds, and the location is great -- right by sites such as Centennial Olympic Park and the restaurants on Peachtree Road.

  2. This stylish, 110-room boutique in Downtown Atlanta, part of Marriott's high-end Autograph Collection, is a hotel with a conscience: It's inside an adaptive reuse historical building; rooms have smart thermostats to conserve energy; high-end H20 bath products are organic; and the linens are fair trade. Although standard rooms are on the small side for the city, and can be a bit dark, they come with iPod docks and (albeit small) flat-screen TVs, as well as contemporary, upscale decor. The hotel's rooftop bar -- which boasts stunning views of the city -- is a highlight.

  3. The Hampton Inn and Suites Atlanta Downtown combines comfortable accommodations with a central location within walking distance to Centennial Olympic Park and MARTA Peachtree Center Station. Housed in a historic building that opened in 1927, the lower-middle-range hotel has an impressive lobby that seamlessly combines old and new touches. Free breakfast, meeting space, laundry room, fitness center, and nearby parking at reasonable rates are among the highlights. But, there’s no pool, the fitness center is small, and parking can fill up fast. Rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated, but only suites include mini-fridges and microwaves. As an alternative, the nearby Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atlanta Downtown, where breakfast also is free and standard rooms include mini-fridges and microwaves.
