Bottom Line

This upscale hotel is a modern, stylishly decorated property peppered with original artwork. Conveniently situated near the Lucas Oil Stadium and Indiana Convention Center, it makes a good base for business and leisure travelers alike. The 209 guest rooms are stylishly adorned and well equipped with flat-screen TVs, Keurig coffeemakers, mini-fridges, and Wi-Fi, while suites add living areas and kitchens. One of the highlights here is the chic mixology lounge, plus there's a breakfast room, fitness center, meeting/event space, and a cute shop selling snacks and artsy knickknacks -- but the property lacks a pool or spa. For something with more features, check out JW Marriott Indianapolis, which has a pool, two restaurants, and a Starbucks -- but Wi-Fi incurs a fee.

Oyster Hotel Review

Upscale hotel with stylish, artsy interiors

This modern upscale hotel features stylish interiors peppered with chic furniture and lots of artwork, from large murals to sculptures, paintings, and other artistic installations. The light and airy lobby is illuminated by walls of windows and offers comfortables sofas, armchairs, and trendy mid-century modern chairs to sink into. The plethora of artwork and a swirl of brightly colored lamps suspended from the ceiling add vibrancy to mostly soft neutral hues. The glass lamps continue into the adjoining Plat 99 Mixology Lounge, where decorative tilework covers the floors and walls, making for a visual feast. All spaces throughout this property are inviting, laced with art and chic touches, and the upscale atmosphere and convenient location attract both business and leisure travelers alike. Extended stays are also welcome and catered to here, with spacious suites that are equipped with both living areas and kitchens.

Convenient downtown location close to shopping, dining, and some attractions

The hotel is situated on the edges of downtown Indianapolis and across the street from a YMCA. The area doesn't feel as busy or highly trafficked as the main downtown areas, but the hotel is a 12-minute walk from the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, which is surrounded by restaurants, bars, and shops. Other tourist destinations include the Indianapolis Zoo (eight-minute drive or 17 minutes via public transportation), the White River State Park (eight-minute drive or 17 minutes via public transit), the Indiana State Museum (eight-minute drive or 17 minutes via public transit), and the Children's Museum of Indianapolis (13-minute drive or 26 minutes by public transit). The Indiana Convention Center is a 13-minute walk from the hotel. Lucas Oil Stadium is a 10-minute walk away. The Indianapolis train and bus station is just an eight-minute walk from the hotel. The airport can be reached in 17 minutes by car or a bit under an hour via public transportation.

Stylish, spacious rooms have good set of mod cons; suites have living areas and kitchens

Rooms feature stylish modern decor that includes attractive dark wood furniture and a neutral color palette that's brightened up by pops of vivid hues and patterns in the form of accent pillows and striped rugs. Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, Keurig coffee machines, a selection of snacks (available for purchase), mini-fridges, electronic safes, and free Wi-Fi. Sleek, modern bathrooms have walk-in showers, plus they're equipped with magnifying mirrors and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Also catering to extended stays, the hotel offers one- and two-bedroom suites with living areas and kitchens.

Stylish lounge, on-site breakfast available for a fee, fitness center, and meeting/event space

The hotel offers a number of features that add convenience and value to a stay here. One of the highlights is the stylish Plat 99 Mixology Lounge, which is an inviting, artfully adorned space that serves inventive cocktails and small plates. There's a cute shop that sells snacks and artsy souvenirs.

The hotel has a Precor fitness center that's equipped with a selection of cardio machines as well as free weights and medicine balls. A popular venue for various functions and meetings, the property offers 16,500 square feet of event space. Other amenities include a 24/7 business center and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
