Bottom Line

The 68-room Gioberti Art Hotel is a modern, upper-middle-range property set just a couple minutes' walk from Roma Termini train station. Although a bit of a walk to top sights -- 22 minutes to Trevi Fountain and about 30 to Villa Borghese -- nearby trains and ample restaurants are convenient. Attractive rooms are a decent size for Rome and include desks, minibars, ample wardrobe space, air-conditioning, and modern bathrooms with rainfall showers and hairdryers. Rooms are quiet. There's little else on-site, aside from a breakfast room with free continental spreads. Wi-Fi is also free. Travelers wanting to be closer to tourist attractions may prefer Hotel Scalinata Di Spagna, which has a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the city.

Scene

Sleek, modern hotel near main train station

Occupying a 19th-century building, Gioberti Art Hotel opened in 2015 after a renovation. Interiors are sleek and modern, with eye-catching color palettes and artwork. The small lobby has red velvet sofas, black-leather chairs, and striking stone head sculptures. An elevator or stairs are available to the six floors, the top of which houses the hotel's only real feature -- the breakfast room. Although there's little on-site, the hotel is quiet and well-located for those traveling via the nearby Roma Termini train station. This is a suitable pick for both business and leisure travelers.

Those wanting to be in the area but have the added benefit of a rooftop terrace and gym should consider Hotel Nord Nuova Roma. For a nearby luxury option, look into Palazzo Naiadi, The Dedica Anthology, which has a spa, chic Champagne bar, elegant rooms, and a terrace overlooking Rome.

Location

Four-minute walk from Roma Termini train station

Gioberti Art Hotel is well-situated for travelers arriving to Rome at Roma Termini train station, as it's just a four-minute walk from the hotel. From there, guests can travel within Rome, to the airport, and to other Italy cities such as Naples or Milan. The surrounding area can feel a bit gritty, particularly at night, but it has tons of restaurants, bars, and shops. Although it's a bit of a hike to top sights, attractions such as the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Villa Borghese are within a 22- to 30-minute walk. The Colosseum is a 20-minute walk away. Ample taxis and metro stations are available for those who don't want to walk. Rome Fiumicino Airport is about a 45- to 60-minute drive away, depending on traffic.

Rooms

Modern, colorful rooms with sleek rainfall showers

Rooms are modern and attractive, outfitted in blue, red, green, and purple, with one of those colors acting as the predominant hue. All have carpeted floors, polished dark-wood furniture, neutral walls with artwork, tufted headboards, and patterned bed runners and throw pillows. Windows allow for street or building views, and rooms are quiet. Standard amenities consist of open wardrobes with ample space, desks, flat-screen TVs, minibars, air-conditioning, and electronic safes. Sleek bathrooms come with rainfall showers, bidets, quality toiletries, and hairdryers.

Suites add living spaces with sofa beds, plus bathrobes and tea- and coffee-making facilities.

Features

Free continental breakfast and Wi-Fi

Being a city property, the Gioberti Art Hotel lacks a full restaurant, gym, and bar. However, all rates include a continental breakfast buffet served in a sixth-floor dining space. The spread consists of cold meats and cheeses, yogurt, fruit, pastries, scrambled eggs, and bacon. Tea and coffee are also available. An Italian restaurant is next door, and many more eateries are within easy walking distance.

A meeting room is available, as are a computer and printer in the lobby. Wi-Fi is free and reliable throughout the hotel.
