The five-room La Piccola Maison is a small, modern hotel located in an historic building on the iconic, ritzy Via Veneto, in the heart of Rome. The clean-lined, modern rooms have original details such as exposed brick and wooden beams in addition to contemporary decor, mini-fridges with free bottled water, air-conditioning, and flat-screen TVs. There's an elegant pied-à-terre with a small kitchen and open-plan living space. The two-and-a-half pearl hotel has limited facilities -- there's free Wi-Fi, but no parking, bar, or included breakfast. The nearby Hotel Oceania has similar rooms and a free breakfast for about the same price as La Piccola Maison.
Clean and modern hotel occupying one floor of a well-maintained 19th-century building
La Piccola Maison is an intimate, modern hotel on the second floor of a
well-maintained 19th-century building. The owners run several other small hotels in the well-heeled neighborhood and are available 24-hours a day to help guests with everything from restaurant suggestions to tour bookings. The historic building's exterior is especially atmospheric, with its large, arched green front door and brass detailing. The marble staircase is decorated with a pastoral mural. The hotel doesn't have an passenger elevator, though heavy luggage can be brought up in the freight elevator. The small lobby has parquet floors and an elegant cushioned white bench, but there are no common areas to speak of. Needless to say, the hotel is popular with more self-sufficient travelers who prize location and style over amenities.
