Part of a small luxury hotel chain originating in the Italian Alps, the Adler Thermae Spa and Relax Resort is a relaxing retreat nestled in a small thermal village in the Siena countryside. This resort makes the most of its natural setting, offering indoor and outdoor thermal pools and serving locally-grown food, but its modern decor sets it apart from other properties in Tuscany; some like the sleek look, while others wish it were more authentic. Rooms are spacious and offer soaking tubs in modern bathrooms and scenic balconies. There are all sorts of amenities for a relaxing or active escape, with miles of hiking and biking trails, along with bike rentals, and a kid’s club with supervised activities for children.
This resort offers 180-degree views of green hills, farms, olive trees, and vineyards. The natural setting -- along with indoor and outdoor thermal pools -- provides a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. It attracts both couples looking for a peaceful getaway, as well as families hoping to take advantage of the many on-site features geared towards children.
A short walk to the village of Bagno Vignoni and close to Montalcino
The resort is located in Bagno Vignoni, a small thermal village about an hour southeast of Siena. It’s a five-minute walk to the ancient village. It’s also 20 minutes to Montalcino, home to Brunello wine, and it’s a 30-minute drive to Montepulciano.
Rooms at Adler Thermae Spa and Relax Resort are large and bright, with white, wood-beamed ceilings and sliding glass doors that lead to patios overlooking the lush property. The modern bathrooms have large tubs and separate stall showers. Rooms are spacious and equipped with minibars, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi.
A slew of on-site activities for both couples and families
This all-inclusive resort has both indoor and outdoor thermal pools, as well as a freshwater pool with a “Wild River” current channel, and a thermal pool for children. There’s an external fitness area with treadmills overlooking the green property, as well as an indoor section. The dining room serves a large breakfast buffet, a lunch buffet for an extra fee, and four- and five-course gourmet dinners alongside an a la carte menu focused on fresh, local produce (some of which comes from a garden on the property). The hotel offers a special kid’s club, with various activities for children and teens. There are miles of hiking and cycling trails, and the hotel has an app to help navigate the routes. Mountain bikes and e-bikes are available to rent for free, and the hotel offers guided bike tours. Spa and beauty treatments are available for an additional fee, along with personal training and babysitting services.
